I am 65 years old and I have diabetes. I was previously evaluated by a doctor and shared my relevant medical records. The two teeth I marked were previously extracted. I would like to have implant treatment for my missing teeth and a comprehensive restorative treatment throughout my mouth.
Does my diabetes affect my suitability for implant treatment? Which blood values need to be evaluated for implants to be performed? Also, which treatments are recommended according to my current dental condition, and does my wisdom tooth have an impact on the treatment plan?

Since our patient is diabetic, his current HbA1c value must first be evaluated. For implant treatment to be applied safely and successfully, the HbA1c value is ideally recommended to be below 7%.
According to the radiographic examination, a total of 4 implants can be applied to the regions of teeth numbers 35, 37, 46, and 47.
In addition, tooth number 18 is overerupted downward and carries a risk of disrupting the occlusion with the opposing jaw. For this reason, extraction of this wisdom tooth is recommended.
For functional and aesthetic rehabilitation, zirconium crowns can be planned for teeth numbers 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, and 47.
For the protection of restorations after treatment and the reduction of possible excessive forces, the use of a custom-made night guard is also recommended.
