Is Composite Bonding on 18–20 Teeth Suitable for a Natural Smile While Preserving a Small Gap?

MatthewMay 4, 2026

I’m 21 years old and I don’t have any chronic medical conditions. I’m not taking any medications or supplements, and I don’t have any allergies.

My main concern is improving the overall appearance of my smile while keeping it very natural. I do have a small gap, but I don’t want to fully close it just refine it slightly. I also don’t have any gum issues.

In terms of previous dental work, I’ve had composite bonding on my lower front teeth in the past to close a gap.

Now, I’m interested in having composite bonding on around 18–20 teeth, ideally with a natural-looking result that suits my face and doesn’t look too artificial.

I’d really appreciate your advice on whether this would be suitable for me and what approach you would recommend.

Based on the clinical evaluation, we can plan E-max crowns for the teeth between 15–25 and 35–45.

Considering the existing crowding as well as the diastema between teeth 11–21, E-max crowns would be a more suitable and predictable option compared to composite bonding.

This approach will allow us to properly align the teeth, correct the spacing, and achieve a more harmonious and aesthetic smile design. At the same time, E-max provides excellent strength and highly natural translucency, which ensures a long-lasting and natural-looking result.

Overall, this treatment will help us address both the functional and aesthetic concerns in a more controlled and durable way.
